The fixed wiring in office buildings is often installed by an electrician. Fixed wiring enhances the massive hard-wired wiring from the patch panel up to the wall outlet. To assess whether this part of the installation meets the ISO or ANSI / TIA / EIA standards, it is tested with a Fluke meter upon delivery. With the Fluke DTX 1800 meter, the permanent link test can be tested.
Channel test
Besides measuring the permanent link, the Fluke DTX 1800 metre can also measure two other elements. The most important one is the complete measurement from the server up to the PC (channel test).
Component level test
The final test is the component level test. With this test, each individual component can be tested. To ensure a secure and good connection, the channel test requirements are high. The value standards for a permanent link are stringent in order to be able to ensure that its combination with two patch cables works properly. In case of separate component testing, requirements are even higher. With the Fluke DTX 1800, the parameters are tested.
